Bubastis formed in 2016 in New Orleans, founded by Cutter and Jason and Seth. Then Martin joined and Seth moved.
We played a few gigs and gained a reputation for high-energy performances, a sound that triangulates throwback punk with free jazz and 1960s-style mod-garage-surf, and hooky songs that get stuck in your ear like that creepy snail-alien mind-control critter that Khaaaaaaaan! implanted into Chekov in Star Trek II.
Then, for a long time, nothing happened. Eventually, A.J. joined in 2018. He plays bass and lives the pimp life.
